Digital Ethics

While businesses have always faced ethical dilemmas, digital transformation and emerging technologies have brought new ethical questions involving altered content, information access, sources for transactions, analytics, AI, and data privacy. These are difficult questions, as they generally do not have a clear ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer. Digital ethics is a discipline that is becoming increasingly important to manage within organizations.

Digital ethics differs from governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). They are the moral codes that guide technology- enabled decisions, and the associated behavior and responses, within the organization. Digital ethics become very complex and subjective, creating the need for digital ethicists within organizations, who help manage the decision-making involved with digital ethics.
