Samepage Adds Mobile Messaging, Shifts to Enterprise

The market for Mobile Collaboration is heating up—it’s the new focal point of Collaboration. Many technology providers are recognizing this, including Samepage, a 2015 Aragon Research Hot Vendor.

This month Samepage announced an update to its core platform and added Samepage Chat, a new way to message people on a standalone basis. What makes it standout is the fact that the collaboration can be enabled around content, which has always been a strength for Samepage.

Messaging Is the New Normal: Enterprises Want More

Mobile Phones have become the dominant compute platform in the enterprise. As a result of this, enterprises have realized that messaging and chat easily solve the problem of reaching people instantaneously. Mobile Collaboration providers offer a way for enterprise users to chat and collaborate securely. The challenge for these providers, however, is standing out; while Slack is the poster child for attracting attention to the mobile messaging market, the reality is that other offerings, such as Samepage, may meet enterprise needs more completely.

Moreover, while messaging enables instant communication, it often doesn’t solve the work challenge.

The Getting-Work-Done Challenge

Samepage is tackling the tough part of work—getting teams to collaborate around projects. What makes their software different is it lends itself to a natural and intuitive way to work. This helps Samepage to standout in what is becoming a crowded market, as previously aforementioned—new Mobile Collaboration providers enter the market every week.

For any vendor, succeeding in this market will be challenging. That said, Samepage has a battle-tested CEO Scott Schreiman who understands Collaboration at a level that many others don’t—he’s one of the reasons behind the recent innovation we’ve been seeing at Samepage.

The Reality of Multiple Mobile Collaboration Offerings

The race to win in Mobile Collaboration is on. Many firms will end up having multiple collaboration offerings, given the nature of work and Bring Your Own Collaboration (BYOC).
