Where we work has changed drastically over the last several years. The office is no longer contained in one place; it’s everywhere, enabled by the use of video to make up for lost real-time interpersonal communication.  Collaborative workers stay engaged through social networks and also through video conferencing on a variety of devices (thanks to Bring Your Own Device).

The modern, collaborative worker is molded and shaped by a conglomerate of communities, both real and virtual. It is important that the enterprise is both able to understand their collaborative workers to communicate with them and engage them in the most effective ways possible. Realtime Collaboration and Communities

The objective of collaboration is to unite people in their work so that they can communicate their ideas to each other more efficiently, but it is difficult to do this when the multitude of collaboration fronts are not united. Marketing leaders need to recognize the synergies that exist between webinars, social communities, and digital marketing initiatives. Then they need to take action to bring these components together in order to unite their collaboration efforts.
