This month’s Aragon Cares was a little different from previous months. We decided to hold Aragon’s 1st Annual Golf Classic – A Charity Event, where 50% of the net proceeds were donated to Child Advocates of Silicon Valley. We are proud to say we raised over $4000 for this amazing cause!
Aragon’s First-Ever Golf Classic
This event took place on April 21st at one of the top-rated golf courses in the Bay Area–Cinnabar Hills Golf Club. Participants enjoyed an 18-hole round, refreshments, gifts, dinner, and a little competition–all while donating to a great cause.
Despite the unusual rainy day in California, we still had over 48 golfers attend our event!
After everyone completed the 18-hole course, they were invited to enjoy a cocktail hour, participate in our silent auction, and speak to some representatives from Child Advocates of Silicon Valley to learn more about the organization we chose to benefit.
Our silent auction gifts included:
- Wine bundles
- Fitness Classes
- Rounds of golf at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club
To conclude the day, we all enjoyed a wonderful dinner and gave out special awards to the 1st place team, 2nd place team, and most honest (highest scoring) team.
It was an amazing way to step out of the office for a good cause!
How We Chose This Year’s Charity
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is a near and dear association to Aragon’s heart. Some of our employees have dedicated their time to volunteering as court-appointed special advocates (CASAs) through this organization.
We have donated to this charity before, however, we knew that we wanted to give back on a larger scale.
Benefitting Child Advocates of Silicon Valley
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is an independent nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 1986. They serve children aged from birth to 21 years old who are placed in the Santa Clara County Dependency Court System (commonly referred to as foster care) for having experienced trauma in the form of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment.
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley serves children in foster care by:
- ensuring every child has a caring and stable adult in their life, an Advocate, while navigating the system;
- influencing local policies and decisions that affect the children they serve;
- building enduring community partnerships to broaden and strengthen their impact.
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is also an affiliate of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association.
Bottom Line
This event was a huge success and so much fun. Stay tuned for Aragon’s Golf Classic next year because we already are excited to make it even better! We hope to see you there.
