ChatGPT Responds to Questions Intelligently
ChatGPT is from OpenAI and it is a conversational chatbot with a large database of knowledge it uses to respond to questions. It is reasonably fast and has a very large base of questions it can answer.
It is much more conversational than many chatbots that exist today.
Will It Become Trained to Be Your Digital Assistant?
There is a good chance that ChatGPT could be trained to become a digital assistant.
In its current form – it is a very good question-and-answer tool.
It isn’t ready to be a digital assistant but it could be trained to do so.
Actually, Google Assistant is further down the road in this quest, but so is Apple’s Siri.
However, they are tuned to lookups right now vs. having a dialog with you.
So they are not completely the same, but they are fast in trying to answer questions.
Google Assistant and Siri – Looming as a Digital Assistant
Google Assistant is working hard to learn your habits and help you with your daily life.
It answers questions with links to websites that match the text in the question.
Apple’s Siri is helping to plan driving routes and answer questions with links to websites.
So Apple Siri and Google Assistant are similar in their approach.
We asked ChatGPT, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri all the same question
The question was “What is the difference between a Microsoft Windows PC and an Apple MacBook Pro. The responses are below.
Apple gave more options for the answers so we scored them slightly higher than Google Assistant which only gave the user one link to look at.

Bottom Line
Task Specific Chatbots are the Winner in the Short Term
For the short term, it is all about having a specific chatbot to answer questions on specific topics.
People will think they are smart if they stay on topic.
For the longer term, bots will have the opportunity to become more of a personal digital assistant – if they are trained to understand what your needs are.
