December 2023 Aragon Cares: Adopt-A-Family
Aragon Cares is Aragon Research’s monthly activity focused on giving back to our local and surrounding communities.
This December, the Aragon Research team continued our annual holiday tradition, Adopt-A-Family program by St. Catherine’s Church in Morgan Hill.
About Adopt-A-Family
Adopt-A-Family is hosted by St. Catherine’s Church to help out families in need, especially during the holidays, where gifts can be an expense families struggle to afford.
The program matches these families with volunteers, who purchase and deliver gifts requested by the adopted family.
Their goal is to ensure children are able to fit in and lift the financial weight off their parent’s shoulders.
“Think about this, most of our children come home to a refrigerator filled with food, a heated home and parents that can pay all of their bills without having to choose between paying rent or buying food for the month. These kids want to be like the children they sit next to in class every day. They want to play video games, have a computer at home, a certain brand of tennis shoes or flat iron.” – St. Catherine’s Church
In addition to the gifts the families receive, St. Catherine’s provides food for the families through a meal or a gift card.
Our 2023 Experience
We are happy to participate again! We adopted another family this year.
The Adopt-A-Family program provided us with a wishlist from the families. After viewing the wishlist, we started shopping around for all of the items!
After all the gifts were gathered, we wrapped them all in festive wrapping paper. Then, we got in touch with the families to start dropping off all the presents in time for Christmas.
