Dropbox Introduces Multi-Team Admin Feature to Enhance User Experience

by Samra Anees

On February 28, Dropbox announced the release of its multi-team admin feature, which gives team members the ability to easily access and manage various Dropbox Business teams. This feature was developed in response to Dropbox Business’ user feedback.

Dropbox releases its multi-admin feature (via Dropbox).

Multi-Team Admin Feature Makes Cross-Team Workflow Smoother

The multi-team admin feature gives an admin of a specific group the ability to give a person outside of that Business group access to that group. For example, an admin on the sales team can give a member of the IT team access to the sales Dropbox Business team.

This feature aims to simplify what can be an otherwise tedious task. Rather than members outside of a specific team having to sign in and out of different accounts in order to accomplish a task, they are granted access to all necessary accounts by admins of those other accounts, and can manage settings for each member of the account. This allows for a better, more sophisticated workflow in the Dropbox Business tool.

Putting the Customer First

Dropbox made it a point to state that it developed this feature in response to the changing needs of its user base. The use case that Dropbox mentioned in its feature release blog mentioned how as smaller startups grow and their teams become more complex, they need more functionality, like what the multi-admin feature provides, to facilitate a better workflow.

This is a good practice on Dropbox’s end for listening to user feedback and using that to make its product more functional for its diverse user base.

Bottom Line

The multi-admin feature was a simple yet necessary addition by Dropbox to increase the functionality, workflow, and user experience of the Dropbox Business tool. This move will please Dropbox Business users who were previously having issues or unnecessary complications without the multi-admin feature. This a feature that shows that Dropbox can grow with the needs of its users, and helps increase customer satisfaction which is an investment in the long run.
