iPad 3 Survey: Tablets Appearing at Work, Home and School

By Jim Lundy

The iPad 3 gets announced in 2 days and the hype surrounding Tablets keeps getting louder, so we created a Survey to find out what you think. Lots of people are talking about what the iPad 3 will have from a feature perspective and in 2012 what we have is tablets appearing just about everywhere, partly due to apps that that allow people to do amazing things with the tablet the app is running on.

Our focus on the Tablets is from multiple dimensions (work, home and school).  Our take is that tablets represent the next generation of computers. It is not a PC or laptop era any longer, and that fact is getting clearer as we move further into 2012. Current generation tablets do many things, the most important of which is keeping the OS in the background. They also delight users with simple ease of use, speed and battery life.

The iPad 3 / Tablets Survey

In the sprint of the iPad 3 announcement, we are conducting a short survey on the iPad 3 and Tablets overall. You can take the survey here. What led us to initiate this short survey was a discussion I had with friends (all business professionals) over the weekend. One commented that he was going to upgrade to the iPad 3 right away and give his old iPad 2 to his wife. Others were talking about the Tablets that they had (iPads, Kindles, Androids) and how it has led them to be able to use computers in new ways.

iPad 3 and Tablets in the Enterprise

What will the new iPad look like? Will it have the Siri Digital Assistant on it? The speculation is running wild. Regardless, tablets are here to stay. Aragon Research is covering Tablets and their impact on the enterprise. Last month we published a special report that you can read more about here.

What will you do after the iPad 3 becomes available? Take our short survey (15 questions) and tell us what you think. Identify yourself and when we tabulate the results, we’ll share the results with you.
