Gift A Nespresso Machine to the Coffee Lover in Your Life

Nespresso Coffee Pods

by Calvin Smith

Every day, as I walk into the Aragon Research office, there’s a sensational aroma that I particularly appreciate—especially in the morning. Since we are in the holiday season, you might think the aroma stems from our well-decorated Christmas tree. Nope! Well how about a holiday candle that has just been lit? Wrong again! Then it has to be the freshly baked cookies that an associate brought in to share with everyone, right? While a very special treat, you are wrong for the third time. The aroma that I am pertaining to comes from our sought-after Nespresso coffee machine.

For the eighth technology in Aragon’s 12 Technologies of Christmas, I present to you Nespresso and its life-changing coffee machines and pods.

What Is Nespresso?

Nespresso is much more than the handsome looks of George Clooney and his love for coffee that you see on their television advertisements. Nespresso was founded in 1986 and is headed by CEO Jean-Marc Duvoisin. Based in Switzerland, Nespresso is also an operating unit of the Nestle Group. Nespresso has been changing and disrupting the coffee landscape for quite some time now, all the while ensuring its manufacturing practices are safe and beneficial to the environment.

How Does Nespresso Work?

Nespresso has a coffee ecosystem that requires two parts: its renowned coffee machines and coffee pods.

Coffee Machines

Nespresso provides a variety of coffee machines that suit every coffee lover’s desires. Nespresso machines are not a cheap purchase by any means, but if you would like to splurge for your coffee-loving friend or family member, then you won’t be disappointed with this investment. The price for a Nespresso coffee machine ranges from about $140 to $450 depending on how many coffee options you would like to satisfy your needs.

Latissma and Creatista are Nespresso’s higher-end models that offer several brewing options such as a ristretto, lungo, espresso, cappuccino, latte, and many more options. If you’d like to keep your options much more limited, I encourage you to try out the Vertuo model that offers five coffee cup sizes.

Coffee Pods

The magic of Nespresso is held within the shells of its coffee pods. Insert the pods into the coffee machine and select your drink of choice. Using smart technology, or as Nespresso terms it, Centrifusion™ technology, this patented technology extracts the rich coffee grounds and mixes it with water to create a soothing cup of coffee. In addition, choose the recommended coffee pod for each setting to ensure your cup of coffee is as bold or as creamy as you’d like.

Nespresso’s Sustainability and Recycling Efforts

In addition to the amazing coffee experience it gives its consumers, Nespresso is making a concerted effort to give back to the coffee community through recycling and sustainability. For instance, click on their sustainability page and you can learn more about their Costa Rica initiative which is centered around planting more shade trees to protect the surrounding ecosystem. Or you can learn why Nespresso produces coffee pods that are made of aluminum because of its recycling ability and to protect the quality of their coffee. Last, but certainly not least, I encourage you to learn more about how the coffee vendor is seeking to empower women agronomists in Ethiopia and tackling gender-income inequality.

Bottom Line

I encourage you to invest in a Nespresso machine or gift it to the coffee lover in your life. I know that here at Aragon, our associates are thrilled to have our very own Nespresso machine and are constantly brewing a fresh cup of coffee. This holiday season, dive into the rich and bold flavors of Nespresso and improve your morning coffee experience.
