Tech Gifts for 2024: The Smart Water Bottle

With the Holiday Season upon us Aragon likes to pick out a set of technologies at the end of every year that we feel would be great gifts for friends and loved ones. This year, I’ve picked the smart water bottle as my tech gift. Let’s dive in!

Why Smart Water Bottles?

While it might seem like overkill to have technology integrated into something as simple as a drinking vessel, today’s smart water bottles come with a variety of useful new features. For an athlete, or health-conscious loved-one, a smart water bottle can be a great gift. If you have a friend that is constantly tracking their minutes walked, or other fitness goals, this might be a perfect fit.

Today’s smart water bottles have come along way, and there is a wide price range, including different features and materials, making for a variety of both budget and more luxury items. The primary feature of a smart water bottle is its ability to track water intake throughout the day, monitoring both how much liquid is contained in the bottle, but also how much the product’s user consumes throughout the day.

Picking A Smart Water Bottle

When picking a smart water bottle it’s important to be sensitive to the preferences of whoever is going to receive the gift. Some people might just want a simpler, less feature-rich water bottle that simply tracks water intake alone, and many more minimalist options exist. However, some users may also want a more feature-rich experience, with tools like connected mobiles apps to help track hydration health over time.

This year, I purchased the Water.IO Smart Water Bottle for my dad, an avid swimmer and athlete. It includes a smart sensor, vibration alerts and LED lights for when the user should take a drink, and a connected mobile app that syncs to the water bottle’s Bluetooth. I picked this gift because I know my dad is an athlete who loves understanding more about his health, and will appreciate the detailed real-time data he can get from the app.

Bottom Line

Smart water bottles are a great gift for any fan of health and technology. With a variety of different products, varying in feature complexity and price, it is an excellent technology gift for this holiday season.
