The Art of Persuasion: Convince Your Boss to Send You to PCMC15

You’d rather be in San Diego than in the office where you work or the room you work from at home, wouldn’t you? I would. That’s why I’m going to PCMC in March.  True, I work at Aragon, so I have to be there, but you have to be there, too.  In fact, it is pertinent that you be there.

Here’s why:

1.  An Awesome Keynote and the Chance for Once-in-a-Lifetime Connections

Our speaker is a seven-time Emmy award-winning sports journalist. We’re serious about making this a legitimate, exciting conference. No, we don’t have the insane budget that Dreamforce* has, but we’re doing pretty darn good for it.

* We will be at Dreamforce next week, so if you’re going, too, make sure to connect! You can get all of your PCMC15 questions answered.

2.  Viable Networking Opportunities

Like other technology and business conferences, you will have the opportunity to network not only with your peers, but with industry experts. But unlike other conferences, which are enormous in size and whose atmospheres do not lend themselves to cultivating sustainable relationships, PCMC is capping attendance at about 500 people. This means more facetime for you, and less competing with people to reach out to thought leaders in your industry who you’ve been wanting to get to know or work with.

3.  A Chance to Not Only Acknowledge Your Weak Areas, But Improve Them

We’re different from our competitors in that we don’t just focus on business or technology. We focus on both, and more importantly, we focus on where they intersect. In today’s world, roles in the enterprise are shifting all over the place; CMOs are increasingly making more IT decisions.

So, if the business side of things is your forte, brush up on your tech skills and knowledge, and vice versa.

4.  Increase Your Company’s—and Your Own Personal—Brand Awareness

PCMC is a brand new conference. People are going to be curious as to who will come and how successful it will be.  If you attend, it is sure to be noticed. Use this as an opportunity! You’re doing something different, and others will want to follow. Use PCMC as a way to become an innovator and start a trend.

5.  Finally, the Fun Part: San Diego

Our venue is gorgeous. We’re at the Marriott Marquis, right on the water.  Aside from an ocean view, you’ll be close to the beach and the Gaslamp District.  The Gaslamp is home to a myriad of restaurants, dives, and bars, ranging from touristy to downright hipster. We will also provide our own cocktail receptions at the hotel, but if you’re looking to do a little exploring, the nightlife in the Gaslamp district is not to be missed. Use it as an opportunity to build on the networking you’ve done during the day.
