Apple iPhone 12: The Two Reasons It Will Be a Winner

The Apple iPhone 12 will be a game-changer for the phone market.

by Jim Lundy

This is the week that Apple unveils the much talked-about iPhone 12. Well, here’s my speculation about the features each of the models will have in them, pending 5G support. This blog talks about two reasons the iPhone 12 will be one of the most successful models in Apple’s history.

The Upgrade Game

In the early years of the iPhone, the upgrade game every two years became normal. In recent years, people have held onto their phones partly due to payment plans and partly due to the fact that they just work. Now with tons of iPhone sevens, eights, and more recent models on the market, Aragon expects a flight of upgrades when the new iPhone 12 models are released.

More models equals more choice. The other thing Apple is doing is offering more models. Besides the large and the medium phones, a smaller phone is also expected to be popular with consumers. For me, I use a large phone for work, but I also like to take pictures—the trade-off is getting a smaller phone with less camera choices versus a medium-size phone that has a better set of lenses.

The Finance Game: Enter the Apple Card

Apple changed the way it did financing for the phone several years ago and let the carriers do more of the heavy lifting there. With the new Apple Card, there are now multiple ways to finance a phone for very little in interest charges. For businesses of all sizes, the Apple Card is an attractive tool to use to finance a fleet of iPhone upgrades.

The Apple iPhone 12 will be a game-changer for the phone market.

Apple stores will soon carry the new iPhone 12 ,which is sure to make a serious splash in the enterprise market for mobile phones.

The Unlocked Apple Phone Is One to Look at

One of the things that will be attractive if enterprises go for the Apple Card is to buy the unlocked Apple phone, which will make it ideal for international travelers that need multiple numbers when they go abroad. When enterprises finance through AT&T or Verizon, they are forced to get a locked phone that only works for that specific carrier. To get the phone unlocked you must pay off the remaining balance of the phone.

Bottom Line: iPhone 12 Is a Winner

Putting aside any possible technical glitches related to the 5G cellular modem in the iPhone 12, Aragon expects the new models from Apple to be a huge success for the two reasons mentioned above. We also expect carriers to offer new plans for 5G, so watch the news from Apple this week and stay tuned for more analysis from Aragon.
