Google Cloud Next 2023: Duet AI for Workspace is Now Available

Google made a large number of announcements at Google Cloud Next 23, its annual Customer Event held in San Francisco at Moscone Center.

This is Google’s first in-person conference since 2019. It was very well attended and there was great buzz.

The big news for Google Workspace customers is that Duet AI, its AI assistant for Google Workspace, is now generally available. This blog discusses aspects of its availability. Google Cloud Next Google Cloud Next

Google Makes Duet Generally Available

The big news at Google Cloud Next was the general availability of Duet AI for Google Workplace. It has been in trusted tester mode for several months, and now it is generally available. However, what that means is customers can request a free trial before they pay for an upgrade.

Demos Galore for Duet AI for Google Workspace at Google Cloud Next

Google had Duet AI at almost every demo station on the show floor. They showed model used cases for both marketing and sales. Also for developers, Duet AI performed very well.

In particular, the ability to generate a custom email with images for a sales prospect was compelling. Along with demos of generating images for marketing campaigns.

Google Duet for Google Meet

Additionally, Google announced for Google Meet, Duet AI can attend a meeting for you by taking notes and sending you a meeting summary, as well as video snippets of what is going on. Google also announced Studio Look, which provides studio sound and studio lighting to give meeting attendees a professional look.

Google Duet for Google Chat

Duet is also not available in Google chat and that allows you to ask questions about your contacts and conversations you might’ve missed in chat. This is a substantial upgrade of team coverage capabilities, and we expect this particular duet featuring the very popular with enterprises.

Google’s Generative AI Partners

We also know that one of the partners for Google was Typeface, and they are also launching a generative AI-based marketing campaign platform that can allow enterprises to ideate on campaign content.

Bottom Line

With the shipment of Google Duet AI for Google Workplace, the race is on for AI-aged assistance to help people get more than work in the office or remotely every day.

Duet AI looks very capable and well. It’s the same price as the Microsoft Copilot for Office365.

We see value in the productivity it will bring to the knowledge worker, such as sales and marketing. In fact, out of the gate, we call it a must-have set of capabilities for sales and marketing teams.
