Hot Use Cases for Intelligent Content Analytics

by Nicole Speciale

It is Hot Vendor season here at Aragon Research, and several forthcoming notes will dive into Intelligent Content Analytics (ICA) and how it fits into an enterprise content management strategy. This blog outlines hot use cases for ICA, and how it is assisting business operations by tapping into unstructured content.

ICA for Documents Is Essential

Organizing, managing, and analyzing all enterprise documents is no easy feat, especially when the documents themselves are not digital. To further complicate things, contracts can often be lengthy and have unstructured data—like clauses, contracting parties, and laws—that, if not thoroughly understood, can present significant risks.

Intelligent Content Analytics for documents is important for enterprises to gain maximum visibility regarding information contained within documents, and understand the impacts of the data within them.

Furthermore, contracts can be a major source of revenue leakage and underutilized data sources, so leveraging the benefits of ICA can address major obstacles for enterprises.

Experience Video and Images Like Never Before

ICA is completely changing how users experience images and video. Intelligent Content Analytics can extract deep levels of information about subjects within an image, ranging from demographic estimates to emotion. This same technology can also be applied to video, which can be beneficial for enterprises wishing to gain objective insights about how prospects and customers engage with or interpret an offering.

Another use of ICA for video involves a monetization process embedded in the interactive media. For example, a potential buyer may watch a video featuring a product or offering and a pop-up will appear on the screen with the item’s information and a buy button. The idea here is that consumers have a quicker path to goods they may be interested in purchasing, and enterprises are more likely to convert leads to buyers and amplify revenue. Newer video analytics use cases, such as monitoring student engagement in a class or to monitor driver fatigue in a car are poised to come online as well.

Voice Analytics Is a Game-Changer for Meetings

With so many remote and mobile employees, it can be a challenge for enterprises to keep their workers in the loop with meeting summaries. Here is where ICA comes in: Voice analytics can auto-transcribe audio, organize data, extract speaker sentiment, and build a record of what otherwise may have been said and then never located in the recording. Voice analytics solves that problem.

Voice analytics solves several major issues, from customer service dilemmas (sentiment analysis is key here) to obtaining a record of meeting events, productivity, and shared information. Enterprise success is largely dependent upon the ability to maintain knowledge cohesion amongst employees, and quickly distribute critical information.

Aragon Knows What’s Hot

Intelligent Content Analytics is becoming a requirement for enterprises as business processes become increasingly digital and consumers want a more engaging and interactive experience. There are many other uses of ICA, so it is important for enterprises to stay up-to-date with these technologies (and emerging ones) so that they can leverage them sooner, and gain a competitive advantage.
