Picking our Aragon Cares activity this month was easy. With wildfires running rampant all throughout our beautiful state of California, Aragon wanted to make a difference somehow–especially since one of our own team members was directly affected by the fires.

If you live in California, you might know the extremity of the recent California fires simply by stepping outside and noticing the terrible air quality. If you live somewhere else, you've still likely heard all about it–more than 3.7 million acres were burned, making 2020 the worst fire season in California history.
For September, Aragon supported the California Fire Foundation through a monetary donation. The California Fire Foundation provides critical support to victims, firefighters, and communities affected by wildfire and disaster throughout California. This support can be either emotional or financial.
For Firefighters
One of the main ways that the California Fire Foundation provides support is directly to firefighters and their families. The organization supplies emergency support to departments or families of fallen firefighters. They also provide educational assistance to the children of the firefighters killed in the line of duty.
On top of this, the Foundation provides grants to those who face financial hardship while going through the testing process and recruitment within the fire service.
For Victims
For victims of fire or other natural disasters, the California Fire Foundation brings immediate relief. They distribute gift cards to victims so that they can purchase basic necessities (medicine, food, clothing, etc.) while recovering from the disaster.
For the Community
The California Fire Foundation also works to bring support to communities as a whole. They provide public safety resources and education about fire safety issues. The Foundation also contributes to other organizations that work to improve communities.
This Foundation is definitely one that we trust to use our donation to really make a difference, and we are happy to be contributing to such an important cause this month.
