Aragon Transform 19: Pre-Ceremony Briefing and Awards Recap

There was quite a buzz stirring about on the evening of December 5th, one that I am assuming the Pullman San Francisco Bay does not experience on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. The buzz was formulating around the Women in Technology, Innovator, and Hot Vendor awards that would be given that night. This type of buzz could only mean one thing: Aragon Transform. 

Last week, Aragon hosted its ninth annual, year-end event recognizing Hot Vendor, Innovation, and Women in Tech award winners. With 200 people in attendance—and with guests from as far as Saudi Arabia, London, and Canada—this year’s event was deemed the best one to date. 

This blog will recap Aragon Transform 2019, from the pre-ceremony briefing to the evening’s awards ceremony. 

Briefing: Digital Labor, Top Predictions, And More

To kick off the big event, Aragon analysts hosted a pre-ceremony briefing featuring a presentation on digital labor, a digital transformation panel, a presentation on Aragon’s Top 10 Predictions for 2020, and the highly anticipated Women in Tech panel. 

CEO and Lead Analyst Jim Lundy kicked off the briefing and introduced the first topic, What Your Workforce Will Look Like in 2027: Discussing Digital Labor. Analyst Betsy Burton discussed how people will have to increasingly manage a hybrid workforce, combined of both people and technology. She posed the following three questions to attendees to consider as their workforce continues to evolve: 

  1. How will your management of people and technology change by 2027?
  2. How will your products and services change to accommodate this new hybrid workforce?
  3. What types of business processes will organizations eliminate and adopt? 

 

Next up was the Digital Transformation Panel. The topic of discussion centered around what is currently working for the panelists’ enterprises and customers when it comes to transforming areas of business The panel consisted of leaders from Shift, Five9, and RingCentral, and was moderated by CEO Jim Lundy. One of the biggest takeaways from the discussion was that a technology provider can’t just sell technology, but they need to embody what it means to be a technology company. 

Analyst Ken Dulaney followed this panel with a presentation of Aragon’s Top 10 Predictions for 2020. This is a list of ten predictions that are compiled by Aragon’s experienced analyst team that they believe will impact your business in 2020 and beyond. The briefing concluded with the Women in Tech Panel, which featured esteemed leaders from Fuze, Nintex, Selligent Marketing Cloud, and Alfresco. Betsy Burton moderated the panel and asked each panelist to share about their experiences as women leaders in the technology sector and how they approach a healthy work-life balance. Nintex’s Camden Hillas provided a great conclusion to the discussion when she said, “Don’t wait until you feel like you’re perfectly qualified to take on opportunities.”

Awards Ceremony

Aragon CEO Jim Lundy kicked off the awards ceremony by greeting attendees and thanking them for attending Aragon’s ninth annual December event. He was joined on stage by Nintex Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Dustin Grosse, who shared why the Nintex team was proud to be the Aragon Transform Global Diamond Sponsor. Aragon is excited to announce that Nintex will return as the Global Diamond Sponsor in 2020.

COO of HelloSign (a Gold Sponsor) Whitney Bouck introduced the Women in Technology awards and presented the first award of the night: the Women in Tech award for Public Relations, which went to Nintex’s Elise Harrington.

Aragon Transform 19 recognized Women in Tech, Innovator, and Hot Vendor award winners.

Following the Women in Tech awards was the presentation of the 2019 Innovation award winners. Jim Lundy kicked off this category by presenting the Artificial Intelligence Award to Google. 

The additional Innovator award winners were presented by Aragon analysts Betsy Burton and Ken Dulaney in addition to Jim Lundy. We’re so proud to finally announce the 2019 Innovators: 

The awards ceremony concluded with the presentation of the 2019 Hot Vendor Award winners. This year, Aragon published five Hot Vendor reports that identified vendors across multiple markets that are noteworthy, visionary, and innovative. These vendors may have new technology that expands capabilities, a new strategy that opens up markets, or a new way of doing business that made them worth evaluating. Bottom Line
