Enhance Experiences With Video

by Katie Bartenslager

If you haven’t heard already, videos are paving the way for new employee and customer experiences. If you haven’t taken advantage, then you are falling behind.

We are living in a digital age – it’s time to start utilizing video internally and externally

Aragon knows firsthand the impact and improvement video can have within a workplace which is why we accompany a visual research video with every research report we publish. This not only can save your employees and your customers time, but it’s proven that we actually retain more information when watching a video. Studies have shown that people actually retain 80% of the information they see or do compare to the 10% retention of what they read. Wouldn’t you also want your employee to watch a 10-minute training video instead of reading a 30-page report? They can learn quicker allowing them to put their skills to action sooner.

So what can videos really do for your enterprise? And how can you use it both internally and externally? Find out in this blog!

Videos for Internal Use

Here are three examples of how you can use videos to increase productivity and engagement internally, across your remote workforce.

  1. Learning/Training

As mentioned above, video can be leveraged while training employees. One way that we use video in training here at Aragon is by screen recording. If there is a task that has routine steps to fix a problem, someone who is experienced can go ahead and record their screen doing the job then share it with their new employee. This is so beneficial because the new employee can reference that video as many times as they need without taking time away from another employee asking them how to do the job. Videos can also keep an employee more engaged by interacting with video training.

2. Virtual meetings

Recording virtual meetings can be very beneficial for internal use. If employees would benefit from a meeting, but cannot attend the meeting live, they can still reference that meeting through the recording. This will help communication throughout your enterprise. Due to the hybrid workplace resulting from the pandemic, virtual meetings can also still give the employees the feeling of being connected to their fellow employees. They are still able to get face-to-face interaction, even from far away.

3. Computer vision

Integrating computer vision into your enterprise can increase employee productivity immensely. Computer vision can have the capability to analyze what is happening in a video, either live or after the fact, recognize people and images in a video or image, and recognize the sentiment of people talking in a video. This has created valuable time for employees to do other tasks instead of sifting through videos themselves. With the quicker recognition and data gained from computer vision, it has also allowed businesses to make decisions quicker.

Videos for External Use

Here are three examples of how you can use videos to power your enterprise externally and increase customer engagement.

  1. Demos

For certain products, it might be hard to portray the full value of it through a picture. You can increase a customer’s experience by using video to fully portray the value of a product. For example, associate analyst Adam Pease wrote a blog on new computer vision in fashion. Revery.ai has used computer vision to create virtual dressing rooms that allow customers to see how clothes would look on them in a more realistic sense. This could be applied to many different products.

2. Customer support

Has anyone ever called your customer support number on a simple task? Maybe they couldn’t follow your instructions on your FAQ page. If you were to use video and have pre-recorded walk-throughs, that could be easier for customers to follow. This not only frees up time for your employees, but it also increases customer satisfaction because they can fix a problem quicker.

3. Virtual events

Since the pandemic, we have seen an increase in virtual events, and they seem like they are here to stay. It has given people the ability to attend events from anywhere, opening the door to more attendees and in return more leads. With that has come the need for more scalable video. There are now platforms that allow you to integrate multiple tracks and have rooms for sponsors, making each event more interactive and unique to your enterprise. Our analysts have stated, “More than 50% of the views of an event happen after the event” which is also why your enterprise video provider should have the capability of recording and on-demand playback.

Bottom Line
