This process will take a few months as we gather up-to-date information on digital business platform (DBP) products and services, speak with references, and perform provider interviews. However, this is your opportunity to join this process.

Among the types of digital platforms, digital business platforms are emerging examples of technology that can accelerate the shift to digital business.
Digital Business Platform Defined
A digital business platform (DBP) is a highly dynamic integration hub that coordinates goal-directed work and supports interactions between people, software, and machines in a most intelligent manner. A digital business platform may be an on-prem product and/or a cloud-based service (see Revisited Market Definition for Digital Business Platforms).
To support digital business, organizations seek to use a digital platform to integrate many of the emerging technologies (IoT devices, analytics, apps, etc.) and data sources needed to enable new business models. And, in many cases, they want to integrate these technologies with existing and new applications, services, data sources, and systems.
Digital Business Platforms Differentiated
Digital business platforms are distinct and differentiated from other platforms by the ability to:
1) integrate new and existing applications, data, and devices needed to support new digital business models.
2) serve customers and partners from their contextual perspective (physical and virtual context).
Digital business platforms are the convergence of major technology streams and are extremely open so that they can serve as a cornerstone platform. To support this level of integration, digital business platforms are primarily open development platforms that include:
- Integration and Low Code Development
- Work / Process Management (all styles of work and processes)
- Analytic and Cognitive Capabilities
- Internet of Things Management (IoT)
- Administration and Behaviors
- Digital Business Model Consulting and Advisory Services
- Solution Application Packages (optional)
