Vice President of Research and Aragon Fellow Betsy Burton joined Aragon Research in 2019.

With over 30 years of experience, Betsy has worked with thousands of organizations in both the public and private sectors to help them with their technology-enabled business strategies, business architecture, digital business transformation, enterprise architecture, and business capability modeling.

Prior to joining Aragon, Betsy Burton held a variety of senior research and management positions within Gartner for 23 years, most recently as a VP and distinguished analyst. She was responsible for defining Gartner's research methodology and leading its Hype Cycle special reports. She has extensive experience in helping her clients recognize and achieve their strategic goals.

Prior to joining Gartner, Betsy Burton held product marketing, management, and engineering positions at Borland International, Sybase, Santa Cruz Operations, Britton Lee, and Digital Research. She was also an active member of numerous standards consortia, including ANSI, the SQL Access Group, X/Open and Open Software Foundation.

Betsy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from University of Colorado with a major in computer science and minors in mathematics and English literature.
