Meet Aragon Transform 2020 Sponsor Nintex

by Nga Pham

Since the company’s founding in 2006, Nintex has helped worldwide customers and partners digitally transform their workflows and accelerate business outcomes. This year, we're delighted to have Nintex as our top tier sponsor: Global Diamond.

Recently, we had a chance to catch up (virtually) with Laetitia Smith, Nintex Senior Marketing and Communications Manager. Based in New Zealand, Laetitia leads and executes the company's PR/AR initiatives and their social media programs.

Read on to discover how Nintex has continued thriving in the COVID-19 era and why the team is proud to sponsor Aragon Transform 2020.

1. What are the 3 things about Nintex that you're proud of?

Three words sum up what I appreciate most about Nintex: People, process and passion. People are at the heart of our organization. Although we’re in the business of developing software, we do it with the aim of transforming the way people work. Not only is that inspirational, it’s also measurable because it involves practical steps and automation that result in improvements. In addition, we get to do amazing things with people who are smart, innovative and make Nintex a special place to work.

Although process speaks to the process management and automation business that Nintex is in, I love that it is such a relatable topic. Countless daily activities involve the execution of one step after another, making process an integral part of how people live and work every day. Missing steps or deviating from a defined procedure could impact everything from baking a cake to applying for time off work to processing an invoice for payment. This is where automation is quite valuable. It saves time, reduces errors and streamlines workflows and processes.

Passion is the fuel in our tank and a real driving force for our teams at Nintex. We care about what we do, why we do it, and whom we do it for. If you’re spending your working day doing something you don’t feel strongly about, make plans to change it. Your teammates and your customers alike deserve to have you be your best self at work every day.

2. How does Nintex bring value to your customers in times of crisis?

Despite the obvious challenges of COVID-19, the global pandemic afforded our Nintex team an opportunity to pause and consider how we could make a tangible difference at a time when people needed to do more with less. Finding ways to eliminate paper and automate a workflow or steps in a process are often part of the solution, so we set about ensuring our Nintex Community members have access to resources that immediately enhance their process management and automation skills and increase their knowledge of what they can achieve with our Nintex Process Platform.

As a result, during March we made several free resources available to Nintex customers. We waived fees for our on-demand and instructor-led trainings and certifications and made more than 20 COVID-19 solution accelerator templates, from process maps to workflow and RPA templates, available in the Nintex Process Accelerator Gallery. More classes have been added and those users registered for Nintex University as of August 31, 2020 now automatically have access to the training subscription through June 30, 2021.

To help our customers automate more, we have made a wide-range of practitioner to expert-level process management and training courses for workflow automation, robotic process automation and document automation available, including participation in live virtual classes and access to all certifications, for a nominal subscription fee.

3. What are the most critical changes that we must make to face the COVID-19 era and beyond?

Resistance is futile. Let’s accept that the world has changed and will operate differently. We need to remind ourselves to get on with the job of finding inventive ways to navigate uncharted waters. This is the time to be nimble, to try new solutions to new challenges, and to think outside the box. There is no question that digital solutions has taken center stage right now, proving their worth and ushering in those organizations that have been slower to adopt technical options.

Get comfortable with change. Business challenges are nothing new, although the solutions may not be evident immediately. Investigate options and consider automation opportunities that enable teams to work smarter and free up their time to focus on work that machines can’t do. Defer to your software vendors – challenging times have a way of inspiring people to dig deep and find ingenious ways of shedding light on new dilemmas.

People are the heartbeat of your organization. Get buy-in from your leadership team who should lead the charge and engage your people, so you take them on the transformation journey with you. By building teams of people who are smart, self-aware, curious, and inventive, you position your organization to accept new challenges and find ways to work successfully, come what may.

4. Why are you excited to sponsor Aragon Transform 2020?

Nintex has benefited from Aragon’s industry perspectives for more than 5 years. We’re proud to be a long-standing Aragon client and to sponsor the 2020 Aragon Transform event, which has gone virtual like so many this year. The impact of COVID-19 has been felt far and wide, so we’re interested to hear the findings of this year’s guest panel on how to balance remote and office work, as well as learn from Aragon analysts about which technologies to look out for in the next five years.

5. In your opinion, what is the most impactful technology trend for the next 5 years?

The global pandemic has highlighted a number of activities we’ve long taken for granted, like gathering in groups, meeting face-to-face, brainstorming ideas in a meeting room and getting a quick solution to a problem by popping over to a colleague’s desk. COVID-19 restrictions have forced us to think creatively and be innovative about how we effectively communicate business processes, facilitate collaboration, implement solutions to accelerate digital transformation, and foster a sense of connectedness.

I think technology will play an increasingly important role in bridging the divide by making business-critical information accessible to relevant stakeholders regardless of where they are working, automating repetitive tasks and those that require little human intervention, and leveraging AI capabilities that simulate environments to create a sense of togetherness even when that isn’t physically possible, impacting not only the way we work, but the way we live too.
