4K Video
Today's business users are demanding rich, immersive video. More providers can now deliver both 760 and 1080P video reliably, with some requirement for MPLS connectivity between campuses. While 4K video is still coming online, we expect to see increasing support for 4K in the coming years, as mobility and the IoT (Internet of Things) will drive new use cases for 4K.
With smartphones such as the iPhone and Google Pixel offering 4K video as a standard resolution for capturing video, it will not be long until we go beyond 1080P to a resolution that is four times better than today's HD. The new HD will make meetings lifelike and will greatly increase the number of VEBAs (video-enabled business applications). Aragon predicts that 4K video will become a requirement for VEBAs in healthcare, security, entertainment, and executive-level interactions.
With price points for 4K-based large monitors falling, enterprises should develop strategies to deploy large displays for more of their meeting spaces. This is key to a more engaging work environment for associates and partners.
