Libra is the name of Facebook’s proposed cryptocurrency system launching in 2020. Libra will offer financial transaction services globally. 

Libra is designed to be quicker and cheaper than competitors, as well as able to avoid problems that competitors like Bitcoin often face such as value fluctuations and development issues caused by the lack of internal leadership.

It should be noted that many enterprises, such as Uber, Paypal, Visa, and Mastercard, have invested millions of dollars into Libra, and by doing so have become founding members and will have partial decision making abilities along with access to some or all financial information collected.
