Video Content Management (VCM)

Video content management (VCM)—what we now refer to as enterprise video (EV)—uses advanced technology to search inside video files so users can access the right video documents and even specific sequences within them.

VCM focuses on managing small and large video files as easily as documents, something that traditional enterprise content management (ECM) systems struggle with since they were mainly designed to deal with text files.

By YE 2020, the feature sets offered by Digital Asset Management and Enterprise Video markets will converge, due in part to the overlapping functionality.

Representative Vendors: Brightcove, Cisco, Google, Kaltura, IBM, Microsoft, Qumu, Sonic Foundry, uStudio, Vbrick, and Vimeo.
