Aragon Declares That Collaboration Has Become Intelligent

Video meetings became the new dial tone during the pandemic and nearly every provider innovated their product offering during that time. However, there is more to a video meeting than just connectivity and video. The market is shifting and, today, Aragon Research announced that the collaboration market – led by video conferencing is now an intelligent market.
Why is Intelligent Video Conferencing Happening Now?
The simple answer is – because a number of providers have been investing in and changing the game of video conferencing. Now Aragon is calling it the intelligent video conferencing market – and the reason is because of all of the new automation and intelligence features that are emerging.

Are Other Markets Also Becoming Intelligent?
The short answer is yes. Aragon’s new service called Foresight has detailed market forecasts, which took years to develop. In each forecast, we discuss if the market has shifted and the rationale behind it.
One example is the Intelligent Contact Center–also referred to as CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service). Aragon predicted back in 2018 that contact centers would become intelligent. That prediction has proven to be true and, today, legacy contact centers are being challenged by existing and new providers that have updated their services to be intelligent.
What Should Enterprises Do Regarding Intelligent Video Conferencing?
Enterprises first need to understand what shift in the market has occurred. Then they need to know the capabilities that they should be asking providers to ensure that their product or service is intelligent, or that there is a roadmap to get there. Failing that, enterprises should develop an exit strategy and move to another provider that is investing.
The world is becoming intelligent and that includes the digital workplace – and with it collaboration. Intelligent video conferencing is here and enterprises should embrace it–in part because it makes meetings and post meetings easier to set up and easier to share notes.
