Mobile Workforce Management

Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) is a subsection of Global Mobility Management that refers to the suite of tools—including processes, software, applications, networks, and related services—used to manage employees working outside the company premises. Mobility is a worthwhile and strategic initiative that has extended the reach of valuable information. This management system has become an active way for enterprises to bridge the gap between the office and the field.

The term Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) is not the same as Managed Mobility Services (MMS) but is sometimes used interchangeably. MWM provides both the software and services focusing heavily on field-based work; whereas, MMS specializes in connecting mobile out-of-office workers to management and other employees.

MWM solutions provide enterprises with various tools that include, but are not limited to creating/monitoring schedules, logging hours, real-time communications and updates, and dispatching/tracking various jobs. It allows for engagement in real-time management and synchronization through web-based apps and mobile devices to increase customer and employee satisfaction. MWM optimizes processes around an enterprise’s human assets to reduce paperwork and manual tasks, optimize job management, and reduce overall costs.
