Enterprises need to offer enhanced approaches to learning in high-stakes industries to ensure that knowledge and skills are acquired and implemented. The newest way to accomplish this is to implement a mastery-based learning program to augment an existing LMS platform.
The realization that skills-based knowledge is tied to enterprise success is hitting the enterprise at the executive level. Old ways of teaching and training are proving to be ineffective. Newer, more robust approaches, including continuous delivery of learning, richer content, and skill-based certifications are delivering the outcomes that enterprises are looking for. This Research Note discusses the need to shift from legacy learning approaches to a modern outcome- and skill-based approach that we call mastery-based learning.
