July Aragon Cares: Donating To Second Harvest Of Silicon Valley
By Nga Pham
We’re delighted to share with you about our July Aragon Cares activity. This month, we've made a donation to Second Harvest Of Silicon Valley, one of the largest food banks in the nation that provides food for people in need in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
It’s no doubt that Silicon Valley is the global center for cutting-edge technology, innovation, and top talents. However, the booming economy has made the cost of living here become so unaffordably high. Many families, especially those with seniors and children, are struggling to put food on their tables. 1 out of 4 people in Silicon Valley is at risk of hunger. Second Harvest was born to serve this unmet need of our community. Their mission is to lead our community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
They provide food through multiple programs and activities:
- Grocery Programs
- Community Partners
- School and Summer Meals
- CalFresh Outreach
- Advocacy
- Nutrition Education
Food need has been even more severe since the Coronavirus crisis broke out. We hope that our humble contribution helps Second Harvest continue their great work and reach more people.
We look forward to continuing our Aragon Cares efforts and finding more amazing organizations that rely on donations to continue their work and change lives.
