Adobe Adds AI Assistant to Acrobat, Powered by Adobe Firefly
Adobe Adds AI Assistant to Acrobat
Adobe recently unveiled a major upgrade to Acrobat, integrating its Firefly generative AI and expanding the capabilities of Acrobat AI Assistant. This move aims to transform how users interact with and gain insights from PDF documents. This blog discusses the move by Adobe to add an AI Assistant to Acrobat.
Why did Adobe add an AI Assistant to Acrobat?
The main reason that Adobe added an assistant is to enhance the value of Adobe Acrobat and to compete against assistants from Google and Microsoft. Adobe has done a lot of work to introduce Adobe Firefly so it makes sense to extend that to Adobe Acrobat.
What does the Adobe AI Assistant for Acrobat do?
The Firefly-powered features have been added to the Acrobat Assistant. Users can now engage in natural conversations with their documents, asking questions and receiving answers with cited references. The Edit Image and Generate Image features enable quick image creation and modification directly within Acrobat. Imagine generating a new logo for your restaurant menu or enhancing an investor presentation with a few clicks – these features make it possible.
Part of the non-generative part of the Acrobat AI Assistant lies in its ability to provide insights across multiple documents. The summarization and just the ability to find the right content via conversational search makes it worth a serious look. The AI Assistant also supports multiple document types, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and text files.
Acrobat Assistant Pricing
To get users hooked, Adobe is offering a free trial of the full Acrobat AI Assistant features until June 28, 2024. After that, the service will be available for $4.99 per month or as part of its Acrobat bundles. For those that don’t want to pay the $20 to $30 per user monthly charge from Google or Microsoft, this is an attractive value price. Note, we expect prices to continue to fall for Assistants.
Bottom Line
Adobe’s integration of Firefly AI into the Acrobat AI Assistant represents a significant advancement in Content AI – and at a value price. The enhanced features promise to revolutionize how users interact with and derive insights from documents. Adobe is now one to watch in the area of Workplace Assistants.
