Dramatic AI Innovations Change tPaaS Market Criteria for 2024
The tPaaS market comprises providers of cloud services that enable customers to reimagine and transform their businesses by offering business modeling, process modeling capabilities, critical digital business services, and integration services for new and emerging technologies.
This year, the emergence of AI technologies, particularly generative AI, alongside new GPU-enabled systems, presents an opportunity for businesses to efficiently utilize rich edge computing devices to serve their customers and reach new markets.
Consequently, we are expanding our criteria for the tPaaS market to include integrative support for AI technologies.
Traditional tPaaS Market Criteria
The traditional criteria for the tPaaS market includes iPaaS (Integration platform as a service) technology integration services and capabilities, such as:
- Integration management, execution, and monitoring
- Generative AI Connection Development and Management
- Messaging and event management
- Low-code development (connectors, interfaces, etc.)
As well as business transformation services and tools, such as:
- Scenario Planning
- Business Strategy Planning
- Business Model Design and Experimentation
- Industry Templates and Services

2024 tPaaS Market Criteria
In 2023, the tPaaS market began evolving as leading tPaaS services started integrating AI into their services, including generative AI integration and integration and development assistants/copilots.
They don’t just provide links to AI services, but specifically designed generative AI services, AI-enabled text-to-SQL services, AI pattern and anomaly services, and AI copilots/assistants.
Leading tPaaS providers are those that offer iPaaS services, business strategy, and design services, and are starting to fully integrate AI into their offerings.
Figure 2: tPaaS 2024 Market criteria
In addition to classic iPaaS services, we are tracking how tPaaS providers are integrating emerging user-oriented technologies such as prescriptive and predictive analytics, the ability to use AI services from low-code/no-code tools and APIs, and the addition of AI assistant services and integration with generative AI services such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT
Bottom Line
It is critical to recognize that the vast majority of technology and service providers will support connections or links to generative AI and AI assistants.
However, for Aragon Research’s 2024 market analysis of the Transformation Platform as a Service market, we are specifically focused on providers that support AI-specific integration and business transformation services.
Clients should expect this market to continue evolving, particularly concerning generative AI and AI assistant technologies.
We also expect providers to evolve their offerings over the next few years in terms of business design and strategy copilots/assistants. Clients are encouraged to read our tPaaS Market Globe, which will be released within the next two weeks.
