Digital Business Platforms Support Better Customer Experiences
By Jim Sinur
(Aragon Research) – Google search the ‘top ten technologies’ and see what you find. I did and found that the digital business platform was on nearly every list. When I coined the term in October 2015, little did I imagine the momentum the Digital Business Platform (DBP) would get. Shortly after, a number of vendors jumped at the idea – and for good reason.
Because of their adaptability and speed, Digital Business Platforms can be used in many different business and technical opportunities – especially ones focused on human processes, such as the customer experience.
What is a Digital Business Platform?
A Digital Business Platform brings new and emerging technologies together to reach the lofty goals of continual customer delight, increasingly effective/efficient business operations with work management, and continuous product/service potentially leading to new business models. It is a key piece of the puzzle for organizations looking to transform themselves to this new digital world.
Since then, the definition has grown deeper and wider than I expected. While the DBP evolves, there are significant opportunities that your organization can leverage now – early in the digital era – to drive outcomes, deliverables, and benefits. There are also vendors who offer DBPs, and I’ve rated some of them in a recent Tech Spectrum market evaluation report.
