Celebrating our One Year Anniversary at Aragon Research
By Jim Lundy
As we head into the fall of 2012, it has been just over a year since we announced Aragon Research. It was on Friday, August 12th, 2011, that I finished up at Saba, had a great going away party, hugged the Executive Assistants that helped me so much and headed home. I wrote my famous blog, Founding Aragon Research and got to work.
The awesome team here at Aragon Research has been at it ever since, writing actionable research and providing trusted advisory services to our clients. It has been a great year and we have a lot to be thankful for.
We have published some very strong research and we often get asked the question – who writes your research. The answer is that Mike Anderson and I write the research. We have a great editor, Lou Latham, who himself used to work on our team at Gartner. Now he is back full-time editing our Research. So, yes, we are growing and as each week passes, more enterprises are deciding to work with Aragon Research.
One of the things we did is to re-architect the Research Note. Our notes – every one of them – have an Aragon Advisory section. It isn’t enough today to provide expertise. We go beyond that and provide the actionable advice that enterprises need.
People often ask us what is different about Aragon Research. The answer is simple. Our mission is to help our clients. We combine both real-world business experience with the in-depth knowledge of the markets we cover. We don’t cover everything, but as we add more analysts we will keep expanding.
Choice and Focus
There aren’t as many analyst firms as there used to be, partially because of mergers and acquisitions. That has allowed large analyst firms to grow, but it has also opened up opportunities for new firms, such as Aragon Research. There are not many firms that were founded by a full team of ex-Gartner analysts. The last one that was – Meta – was bought by Gartner a few years back. The lack of choice in Analyst Research firms is one of the reasons Mike and I founded Aragon.
So, as we celebrate our first year anniversary, know that our mission is to help our clients. I encourage you to talk to us to see how we can help you and your enterprise. Feel free to email me directly at JLUNDY@aragonresearch.com to set-up a discussion.
