Week 1 at Aragon Research: Intern Edition
With the end of week one, we are thrilled to continue growing and learning here at Aragon Research. We have accomplished so much in just the short time we have been here and we are excited to share these experiences with you!
From making a commercial to getting lunch with the CEO, this really has been a great start to an even better summer.
Lunch with the CEO
On Thursday the 19th, Jim Lundy treated all three of us to a great lunch near our headquarters in Morgan Hill. After a long morning of hard work in the Aragon office, this delicious sandwich shop was just what the team needed. Salads and sandwiches satisfied our hunger and ice cold water quenched our thirst.
Feeling empowered and reenergized, the fabulous lunch and stimulating conversation with Jim led us to face the afternoon with new motivation.
Intern Hike
On Friday, we went with our CEO to the Harvey Bear hiking trail. After a pleasant car ride to the tune of Jim’s sales calls, we stepped out into the warm afternoon air and made our way up into the hills.
During the hour-long hike, we came upon some fantastic views of Morgan Hill and the surrounding area. More importantly, though, we got to know each other better, and we were able to challenge ourselves in the great outdoors just as we challenge ourselves every day in the office.
Promotional Video
Armed with our Aragon Research Macbook Pros and iMovie, we set out to create a brand new promotional video for the company, “Build a Better Business.”
We wanted to pull information from the website and give viewers an overview of what exactly Aragon Research does. The significant amount of resources provided to us enabled the creation of the video. Combining different types of media, such as photos, music, and text, we successfully created a compelling commercial.
Sales Calls
On Wednesday, Jim Lundy took to the streets of San Francisco with sales intern James. Getting on a late CalTrain at 6:30am, they finally arrived in the city just before 8:30am.
Meeting with clients and prospects in hip coffee shops and business towers, the Aragon sales team had an opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful cities in the world between providing the best consulting advice available.
Press Release
At the beginning of this week, CEO and Lead Analyst Jim Lundy pulled Ciara and Ashima into the conference room and told us some exciting news: We were going to help draft press releases.
Alongside Jim, Ciara and Ashima helped craft strong wording that adequately informed the readers of the two new reports Aragon Research was offering to its subscribers this upcoming week. This helped us gain more experience and learn from an expert about what it’s like to draft a clear and concise press release.
Final Thoughts
After working for a full week at Aragon, we all have a really good handle on what the company is all about and we are confident in our ability to represent it in the best way possible. We look forward to the rest of our summer with Aragon, combining our prior skills with the skills we have learned this past week to help the company grow and prosper.
