An Application Programing Interface is needed for two applications to communicate with each other and share data in order to perform the intended function.
Are Application Programming Interfaces just for tech companies?
No, an Application Programming Interface is not just for tech companies. APIs are used by most digital companies.
An example of API is the one that allows the weather app on our phones to communicate with the weather bureau’s software system to bring us daily weather updates.
What types of APIs are there?
The different types of Application Programming Interfaces are:
- REST
- SOAP
- GraphQL
- Cloud
- Hardware
What is API testing?
The objective of Application Programming Interface testing is ensuring that the performance and security is reliable.
It includes:
- Performance testing requests made to API endpoints
- Creating unit tests that check functionality
- Testing security
