Introducing The Digital Workplace Blog Series
This is the first in a series of blogs about the digital workplace, a topic that we cover often at Aragon Research. While many people write about the digital workplace technologies, we look at both people, process, as well as technology when we consider what it takes to make work digital.
Over the coming weeks we will be publishing a weekly blog –every Thursday– on the various aspects of the digital workplace and the various sub-topics that we frequently cover.
Some of these areas include:
- Digital work hubs
- Communications and collaboration
- Content management
- Digital transaction management
While we also cover employee engagement (formerly known as talent management), we think that learning is part of the digital workplace. Learning is also part of knowledge and one of the key aspects about people and work is the quest for knowledge that can yield better performance, and hopefully, better business outcomes.
Artificial Intelligence
One of the other related areas for our weekly blogs is going to be the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). AI is coming to the digital workplace, but not necessarily in the way everyone expects. Even as we were creating this blog, the editor we were using was increasingly getting better at autocompleting sentences. As we write about some of the various technologies, it will become clear that we have been looking closely at the intersection of intelligence and applications.
One of the first big research projects for the year in digital workplace is our annual technology arcs, which explain the state of the market for emerging, adopting, and mature technologies. Aragon produces the technology arcs in our various topic areas, and what’s great about these various research notes is that the videos we produce help people understand what’s going on in each topic area in less than two minutes.
Occasionally, for these blog series, we will be sharing snippets of our visual research so that people who aren’t clients can see what is going on in the digital workplace and all the topics Aragon covers.
Bottom Line
Aragon has more extensive coverage of the digital workplace than any other research firm. Part of this is due to our deep understanding of where the market has come from, but also our ability to predict where the market is going.
One thing is clear: AI is here to stay, and as we write more blogs and you get access to some of our great research, we think you will agree.
